Why Visit Gozo in March?
March is when spring arrives in Gozo. Following the traditionally coldest and wettest months of January and February, March brings increasingly longer days and average temperatures of 16–18°C (60.8–64.4°F). The island is at its greenest and with around seven hours of sunshine per day, it’s the perfect time of year to get outside and explore the countryside, along with Gozo’s historic sites.
When it comes to events on Gozo in March, there’s the usual eclectic mix of exhibitions and musical performances. Plus this month sees Gozo preparing for Easter, which in 2026 falls on 5 April.
This guide covers events in Gozo for March 2026. It will be updated in February 2027. Looking for what’s on in Gozo right now? Check our current events page →

Singin’ in the Rain
Just typing out the title and I’m already earwormed with the eponymous song. Every March, Teatru Astra puts on a musical and in 2026 they are bringing this classic to Gozo. Apparently it really will rain on stage, which I’m very much looking forward to seeing! It’s always a popular night out, so hurry to get your tickets!

Lejl Imkebbes (Wrapped Night)
Victoria’s Citadel is always majestic but its at its most magical on the evening of Lejl Imkebbes when it is adorned by thousands of candles. Some arranged to create images and patterns, others that light the way around the lanes and walls.
This event is prone to being postponed due to the weather, so keep an eye on Cultural Heritage’s website for updates.

Music
Music is the heartbeat of Gozo and you never have to wait more than a few days for a concert, performance or gig to be taking place somewhere on the island, usually for free.

St Patrick’s Day

Now in its fourth year, and getting bigger with every edition, the St Patrick’s Day Festival is a regular fixture of Gozo’s party calendar. Expect a lot of people wearing green and drinking the black stuff while dancing along to some of Gozo and Malta’s top local bands.
