Synopsis

In a small Mediterranean village, Carmen cares for her brother, the local priest. When he dies, the Church abandons her. Then she’s mistaken for the new priest, prompting her to rediscover herself and her world.

This warm and charming movie was inspired by the director’s aunt, who had spent her life upholding a Catholic tradition. That of when a man becomes a priest, if he has an unmarried sister, then she abandons her own life and looks after him, unpaid, while he carries out his duties.
