Synopsis
Amber, a wealthy and spoiled woman becomes stranded on a deserted island with Giuseppe, a working-class Italian fisherman, after a yacht accident. Isolated from society, their roles reverse, leading to an unexpected and tumultuous relationship.

Swept Away was quite a departure for director Guy Ritchie, who was more known for his gritty and comedic British gangster movies, such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. While those movies were successful, Swept Away performed so poorly on its opening weekend in the United States, it went straight to video in the UK.
