Synopsis
A tale of faith, denial, and discovery. When someone’s world is upended by overwhelming loss and despair, the boundary between redemption and ruin becomes unclear. In a place where convictions are challenged and truth is elusive, one person faces a profound choice between life and death.

Aleksa Ristovic’s short film, “Stations of the Cross,” was shot exclusively on Ta’ Għammar Hill, Għarb is one of the most successful shorts to have been created on Malta, receiving widespread acclaim and numerous honours since its release. The film earned nominations at multiple international festivals, and has won several awards including:
Best International Short at the Washington DC International Cinema Festival
Best Religion & Faith Short Film at the Roma Short Film Festival
Best Experimental Short at the Ural Shorts Festival Winter 2025 Season.
During Holy Week in 2025, the film was also broadcast on TVM. It was chosen as an official selection for the prestigious BAFTA-qualifying Carmarthen Bay Film Festival, and featured at three Canadian festivals, including those that qualify for the Canadian Screen Awards. Additionally, filmmaker Ristovic noted the film’s achievement as a finalist at the Hard Faith™ Film Festival in Los Angeles.
