People who haven’t spent much time on Gozo sometimes ask what there is to do here. By July, that question answers itself. From the first village feast of the summer to the last wine festival of September, the island runs on a calendar of music, food, fireworks and community celebrations that would exhaust you if you tried to attend everything.

Most events are free. Most happen outdoors. Most start late, because that’s how Gozo works in summer. You eat, you wander, you find a square with music playing and you stay longer than you planned.

This is your guide to what’s on across July, August and September 2026. For the latest updates and any last-minute changes, check Events in Gozo before you head out.

What to Expect in Summer

Summer on Gozo runs hot and humid from July through to mid-September, with temperatures regularly hitting the mid-30s in July and August. The sea is warm, the evenings are longer and the island is at its busiest. If you’re visiting in peak season, book accommodation early and plan sightseeing for the mornings, by early afternoon, the sensible thing to do is find a shady spot or a beach with a parasol. By evening, the villages come back to life.
