The clocks have gone back, the evenings are drawing in and the first autumn storms have already hit. Summer on Gozo is over for another few months, but there’s still plenty to keep us entertained.
November starts with an island-wide celebration of All Saints’ Day, when almost every village is lit by candlelight. There are concerts, exhibitions and family days throughout the month, including the Malta International Piano Festival and an evening of John Williams film music at Teatru Astra.
As the month draws to a close, the Christmas programme begins, and with it the second best time of year on the island: Christmas on Gozo.

Mixegħla tal-Qaddisin
To celebrate All Saints’ Day, Gozo puts on a display of light. Mixegħla tal-Qaddisin, which translates as All Saints’ Light, sees almost every village lit by candles, with the streets, squares and statues all part of it.
