Gozo is a good island for a couple’s break. Nothing is far away, the evenings are quiet and the sunsets at Dwejra and Ta’ Ċenċ are worth planning a night around.
These are ten places I’d suggest for couples, from spa hotels to small boutique stays in the villages and self-catering farmhouses with their own pools. Offers change through the year, so check directly before you book.
Spa Hotels

Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz
Set among the fields of San Lawrenz, a short drive from Dwejra, the Kempinski is the island’s best-known spa hotel. The spa has an Ayurveda centre and an Oriental hammam, and there are heated indoor and outdoor pools looking out over the valley. It suits couples celebrating something, or anyone who wants to spend at least one day doing very little.

Top Tip: Book a spa treatment for the afternoon, then drive to Dwejra for sunset. It sits within Gozo’s Dark Sky Heritage Area, so stay on for the stars.
Hotel Ta’ Ċenċ and Spa
On the edge of Sannat, this low-rise hotel is built from local limestone and spread across gardens and courtyards. There are outdoor pools, an indoor pool and a spa, plus a shuttle to the hotel’s own rocky bathing spot near Mġarr ix-Xini. Couples who like to walk will get the most from it, as the clifftop paths start almost at the door.
Top Tip: Walk the Ta’ Ċenċ cliffs before dinner and look out for the cart ruts and dolmens along the way.
Boutique Hotels and B&Bs

Tuta Agritourism
On the edge of Kerċem, Tuta is a converted farmhouse with a farm-to-table approach to food. Some superior rooms have private jacuzzis and sea views, and the shared pool sits under olive trees. It’s a good fit for couples who care about what’s on their plate.
The Duke Boutique Hotel
Right in the centre of Victoria, the Duke suits couples who’d rather walk to dinner than drive. Some rooms have private terraces, a few with hot tubs and saunas, and breakfast comes with Citadel views.

Top Tip: Walk the Citadel walls at dusk, then eat in Victoria without worrying about the drive back.
Santa Lucia Boutique Hotel
On the quiet edge of Santa Luċija, this family-run hotel looks out over open fields. There’s an outdoor pool and hot tub in the gardens, and the signature suites have terraces. It’s one of the most peaceful places on this list.
Top Tip: If you head out for dinner, pre-book your taxi back. Santa Luċija is one of the harder spots on Gozo to get a ride from.
Cesca Boutique Hotel
In Munxar, above the valley that runs down to Xlendi, Cesca is a small hotel with a pool and rooms with private hot tubs. The valley views run all the way to the sea.

Top Tip: Walk down to Xlendi for a drink by the water. It’s downhill on the way there, so you may want a taxi back.
Battistini Boutique Living and Spa
Also in Victoria, Battistini has a rooftop pool and terrace looking across the town, plus a small spa with treatments for couples.
Quaint Boutique Hotel Sannat
Facing Sannat’s village square, this is one of the Quaint group’s small hotels: ten rooms behind a traditional façade, with modern interiors. It’s a quieter, more affordable alternative to the bigger spa hotels, with Ta’ Ċenċ and Mġarr ix-Xini close by.
Top Tip: Madame Blanc fans may recognise the square. Sannat stood in for Sainte Victoire in series one.
Farmhouses and Self-Catering

Haven Farmhouse
A self-catering farmhouse in Żebbuġ with its own pool, sea-view terraces and traditional stone interiors. It suits couples who’d rather cook, eat outside and keep to themselves.
Top Tip: The salt pans at Xwejni are a short drive away and make a good sunset walk.
Cittadella View Penthouse
A penthouse in central Victoria with a rooftop hot tub facing the Citadel, which is lit up at night. A sauna and spa treatments are also available.
