I don’t know about you, but I love a spa afternoon. The soft lighting, the gentle music, that particular smell of musk that you only seem to find in these calming cocoons; no matter how many scented candles you buy.
Gozo’s always had some amazing wellness places, but it has really upped its game over the past year with several new hotels opening with great spa facilities to complement existing locations.
The great news is that you don’t need to be staying at a hotel to use its spa on Gozo. Several of the island’s hotel spas take bookings from non-residents, and at least one sells a day pass, which makes that spa afternoon one of the better plans for those rare grey winter days.
These are the hotels on Gozo with spa facilities, listed alphabetically, with what each one has, when it’s open and how to book. If you’re choosing somewhere to stay rather than somewhere to spend an afternoon, our Where to Stay on Gozo guide covers the rest of the island.
Top Tip: Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz sells a day pass for €50 (€20 for children under 12). It covers the indoor spa and gym from 10:00 to 17:00, plus 15% off treatments, food and drink on the day. Treatments need booking ahead of your visit.
The Duke Boutique Hotel, Victoria
The Duke doesn’t have a spa as such. What it does have is treatments brought to your room, which is no bad thing in a hotel on Republic Street in Victoria, a few minutes’ walk from the Citadel. Some rooms also have their own hot tub and sauna, so you can spend the morning on the Citadel ramparts and the afternoon with a massage and a soak without leaving your room.
- Spa facilities: no shared spa. Some rooms have a private hot tub and sauna, and treatments take place in your room
- Treatments: therapeutic massage, sports massage, reflexology and beauty treatments, including side-by-side treatments for couples
- Booking: in advance, by email at [email protected] or on +356 2779 9100. See the treatments
Grand Hotel, Għajnsielem
The Grand Hotel sits above Mġarr harbour, so it’s the first spa you reach off the ferry and the last before you leave. It was also the first ELEMIS Spa on Gozo, which it pairs with an indoor pool and sauna and a full menu of ELEMIS facials and body treatments, in a calm, candlelit setting that suits a long afternoon.
The menu runs from a 25-minute ELEMIS facial (from €55) to a 90-minute hot stone massage (€110), with a 60-minute Swedish massage at €75. There’s also a waxing lounge, hand and foot care, and sun recovery treatments for anyone who overdid it at the beach.
- Spa facilities: indoor pool and sauna
- Treatments: ELEMIS facials, massages, body exfoliation, hand and foot care, waxing
- Opening hours: 09:00 to 18:00, Monday to Sunday
- Non-residents: welcome, subject to availability
- Booking: online, by email at [email protected] or on +356 2216 3000. See the full spa menu.
Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz
Kempinski’s spa is in San Lawrenz, a short drive from Dwejra. The hotel has five pools in all, including a heated indoor pool open all year, and the spa has a hammam suite with its own pool, plus Ayurveda treatments, which run alongside the main spa menu.
It’s also one of the easier spas on Gozo to visit without staying, with a day pass, memberships for residents of the island and long opening hours.
- Spa facilities: heated indoor pool, hammam suite with hammam pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool and gym. The hammam, heat rooms and gym are for ages 16 and over
- Treatments: spa menu and a separate Ayurveda menu
- Opening hours: 07:00 to 21:00, Monday to Sunday
- Non-residents: welcome. Day pass €50 for adults and €20 for under-12s, 10:00 to 17:00
- Booking: online, by email at [email protected] or on +356 2211 5800. Menus: spa and Ayurveda.
Quaint Signature Hotel, San Lawrenz
A small boutique hotel in the same village as the Kempinski, and the opposite in scale. Its spa, Kate’s Haven, is on the lower level and is adults only, with a heated indoor-outdoor pool, a sauna and a private jacuzzi. It specialises in head spa treatments alongside massages and facials.
It also runs spa and food packages. The Haven Spa & Lunch Escape is €90 per person for a 25-minute treatment, an hour in the private jacuzzi and sauna, two hours of pool access and lunch. On Fridays, Spa & Dine (€150 per person) swaps lunch for dinner and adds a 70-minute treatment.
- Spa facilities: heated indoor-outdoor pool, sauna, private jacuzzi. Adults only
- Treatments: head spa, massages, facials, couples’ packages
- Opening hours: 10:30 to 19:00, daily
- Non-residents: welcome
- Booking: by request through Kate’s Haven Spa, by email at [email protected], on +356 2156 3772 or WhatsApp. Bookings are confirmed once the spa replies
Reef Hotel & Spa, Marsalforn
One of Gozo’s newer hotels, the Reef is just a few minutes’ walk from the seafront in Marsalforn. It’s a 4-star with a rooftop pool, and its Ember Spa is the most convenient if you’re staying on the north coast. The spa has a heated indoor pool, a sauna and four private hydrotherapy suites.
The signature treatment is the Salt Pan Ritual (60 minutes €85, 90 minutes €110), a scrub made with salt harvested from the Marsalforn salt pans. Massages start at €75 for a 60-minute full body massage, and a 75-minute hot stone massage is €110.
- Spa facilities: heated indoor pool, sauna, four private hydrotherapy suites
- Treatments: relaxation and therapeutic massages, signature rituals, reflexology. See the treatment menu
- Booking: by email at [email protected], on +356 2567 0050 or WhatsApp

Hotel Ta’ Ċenċ & Spa, Sannat
Ta’ Ċenċ sits on the edge of Sannat, near the cliffs, in low stone buildings spread across its grounds. If you know The Madame Blanc Mysteries, Sannat’s square was the original Sainte Victoire. The wellness spa has three treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room and hot tub, and the hotel has an indoor pool as well as two outdoor ones.
- Spa facilities: indoor pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub
- Treatments: deep tissue and hot stone massages, facials, body wraps
- Opening hours: 08:00 to 20:00, daily
- Non-residents: welcome
